Marrying Your High School Sweetheart

Aurelie and James met in high school and have been together ever since! They both went to the same private school in the Berkshires and after 12 years of being together, they returned to the county where they met to get married.  They were reminded of their long courtship throughout the wedding day and had many laughs about it.  Actually this couple is just about always laughing and it’s contagious.  The beautiful thing is when they turn to each other to hint at an inside joke or make a face, they are totally wrapped up in each other’s presence and enjoying every minute of it.  Aurelie’s sister, Marie, verbalized what potentially all of us were thinking…we would all be lucky if we created a relationship like the one that Aurelie and James have with each other.  

The poem below is one that James read to Aurelie at the wedding. It is a tradition in his family and he carried that tradition forward.

the great advantage of being alive
